Default Hi,new member here

Hi guys (and ladies,of course),
I have been carving since I can remember - and was able to hold pocket knife. My first knife I got from my loved granddad(and series more), as a set of my lost pocket knives since is very, very long, indeed.
Nobody told me how... so I had to learn myself from zero, cuttig all i was able..wood chips, canes , fingers (sorely my fingers mainly)..
Nevertheless with nearly a real carving I started some 30 years ago as a relaxation mainly, but time to time only...and this relation last till now...with a great joy...
I´m carving nearly all I like ..from little wood pendants to bigger"woodheads" and basreliefs...(and my fingers, of course ).
I have to say..I found this forum by chance searching for some nice owls .
I had not idea to search some forum here (like that) before.
I do hope I´ll able to put some pictures of my "wood kids" here.
Tom

Hi Tom,
Welcome a Dobry Den!
Which place in the Czech Republic are you from? I am originally from Brno - came to Canada in August 1989.

Welcome Tom:

Good to hear about your (finger) carving abilities, I keep all the new doctors in practical courses on appling stiches to fingers and hands. Some even suggest that I take up a safer hobby. However I'm looking forward to some of your words of wisdom in carving wood and not fingers.Oscar

Welcome Tom,

Nice that you found us. I am new to this message board as well. But I have found that you can spend literally countless hours milling through the tutorials and other threads that are compiled here. And if you have need of an immediate answer there are countless experts that give really sound advice. I extend my welcome as well.

Don
