Thanks Gang. The welcomes are much appreciated. As for pictures, I have given most of my carvings away to my extra large family,save for what I am working on at present. I never thought about taking photos of them. They are really not all that good anyway. I will contemplate posting some pics after my skill level has doubled. I will probably pester some of you with the same questions you have already answered. Again, thanks for the welcome and I look forward to visiting a couple times a week.

Best way to improve, Mike, is to post photos and ask for suggestions to make it better next time. It is said that "practice, practice, practice" is all it takes, but practicing the wrong thing only makes one skilled at doing it the wrong way. That was my skiing experience for some time until my sons decided to have pity on me and showed me the proper way to do things...

From another new guy, welcome. It seems there are some really good people here, and like the carving club I belong to, very helpful to other carvers wanting to learn. I'm enjoying searching this site.
