Cool Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone! What a great message board! I've been carving since I was 11 years old, and love to sculpt wildlife in bas relief. Just returned from the island of Palau where there are many carvers, chipping out native storyboards. They were very inspirational!
I'm interested to know, are there any carvers out there making their living from their carvings?
I'm also very interested in carving ship's figureheads & catheads, anyone out there doing this as well?
Does anyone know of any great websites where I can purchase large slabs of carving wood?
Thanks for your time and happy carving!
Nancy

Hi Nancy and welcome, for the wood I like Heinecke Wood Products they are super folks to do business with. I like Exotic Hardwood Lumber and Woodworkers Supplies | WoodworkersSource.com here in Arizona. I know there are other's too, probably closer to you.
Kathy
