Default Hi everyone.....

Hi everyone,

First, I'm a new to this site and just started this nice and interesting hobby.
I'm newbie to this site and also new to woodcarving and would like to know more.

Any help is greatly appreciated on anything for a beginner.

Thanks and happy woodcarving to you all!

Dan, you can find the help you need here on the Forum. Look over the posts, especially those in this heading, decide what you would like to carve and get started.

Squarebriggs replied to Soggy in one of the best posts I have seen as "how to get started". Just look under "today's posts" or if you have signed in under "quick links" and "today's post" and read this message.

Welcome Dan. I agree with Paul. Just pick something that you like and start making chips. Don't worry too much about the outcome for the first couple of carvings, just learn what your tools can do and how to use them. I would suggest that you try a few different styles and see what you like best. My first carving was a relief wood spirit but since then I've been carving caricatures and loving every minute of it. The most important thing is to have fun. After all, hobbies are supposed to be enjoyable, if not you might as well just go to work
