I've attached a picture of a Queen Anne lowboy I built. I did the sunburst, the cabriole legs, and the molding around the top by carving. I'm just learning and I don't have a lot of carving tools right now.

Hi Sam and Peter, nice work and introduction both of you. There is a Forum entitled 'General Woodcarving' and that would be a good place to show your work and get more comments too. General Wood Carving - Woodcarving Illustrated Message Board
Also there is the Carver Galleries look under 'Carving Community' on the index bar on the left side of this screen. Click on 'Carver Galleries' you can start your own album and others can comments on your work also.
Hope you both enjoy our carver community here on WCI.
Kathy

Hi Peter - really hard to comment upon something that looks very near perfect. Instead, I have questions:
-what kinds of wood?
-what kind of tools?
-if you don't mind answering this - how long does it take to carve such great pieces, and how many years of practice?

I'm amazed.
