Default Hi everyone

Just joined this forum after lurking for a while. Looks like lots of great ideas and help available. I am trying to pick up carving/whittling again. Did some 30+ years ago as a boy scout then let most of my hobbies drop when I had kids. Now that they are older I am trying to get back into some. Picked up some tools several weeks ago and now I am driving my wife nuts - leaving wood shavings everywhere......

Thanks,

John

Hi John, welcome! Well, wives are kinda fussy that way--its that snap, crackle, pop when you step on wood chips--and if your barefoot Yikkes. Then there is the clean up, my hobby doesn't do woodchips. So I'm vanquished out to the garage shop with the shop vac close by.
Hope you enjoy us all here.

Welcome John. Naw, there's worser ways to drive your wife nuts. A few wood chips here and there sure beats some of these ways. I carve in every room of the house (even my shop sometimes). Well there are several rooms that I have yet to try. I explained that I get lonely out in the shop all by myself. After that comment, my wife has never once complained. And sometimes I don't sweep up the chips for days. I am glad you joined. Keep right on posting, and don't forget to post some photos of your carvings.

Greetings and salutations! Promise your wife that you'll buy her a new vaccum cleaner!
