I’m actually a professional woodturner by trade, focussing on the artistic side rather than run of the mill bowls. I’ve gradually incorporated more and more carving into each of my pieces, which has culminated in my latest piece featuring a carved snake – my first attempt at an animal of any kind. If anyone is interested you can see it on my webstie www.yvonnearlott.com. I have to admit I don’t know the first thing about carving and tend to just hack the wood away until I achieve the desired form. I would appreciate any comments. Yvonne |

Fantastic work Yvonne--I dont usually like snakes, but the "stylized serpentine form on the Cavern" is great. Unusual craft and great detail--Thanks for the look.

Welcome aboard Yvonne. You do beautiful work, you should fit right in here. Our members create all kind of wonderful work, from the simple to the more complex and at all skill levels, mostly hobby carvers but some professionals as well. We all have one thing in common, we love to carve wood. Make yourself at home, I can see by your work that you have a lot to contribute. Thank you for sharing your work with us. Bob

You have most certainly found your niche within the wonderful world of wood! Really some fine pieces you have there! Actually I'd consider woodturning to be a form of woodcarving although in a class of its own. Thanks for the website displaying your work and welcome.

Hi Yvonne Welcome! I looked at your work and it is beautiful. You have a lot of talent and you should be proud. I joined the forum last Winter, and I have learned a lot about carving and carving tools. But the best part is the fun we have here and the joy of seeing other people's talents. Enjoy! Bob
