Hello and welcome, scribe.

Can you tell us a little about yourself, like where in the world are you from, what do you like to carve, what style, how long?

Thanks.

thanks for the warm welcome.

ron t,

I'm from south louisiana, and i'm presently carving a paddle (my first). it's rather hideous at this point -- i'm thinking of calling it "frankenpaddle." i'm too green to even know what 'style' i use. i like to use as many hand tools as possible, if that counts. i worked as a framing carpenter when i was in college, but i haven't carved much since i was a kid. i got back interested in carving from tying bass and panfish flies. carving the little balsa poppers struck a nerve i guess.

anyway, my interests presently lie in paddles, fish bait, boats, and anything else maritime. y'all are a fine bunch -- thanks for your interest.

c'est bon!

Hi scribe,

I'm glad I prompted you but even happier you responded. I spent a lot of time at an RV park called Hideaway Ponds outside of Thibodeaux. That's where I first was introduced to twisty sticks and making canes.

Thanks for the intro.

Hi scribe,

We used to go to Houma all the time, too. Especially the Chinese buffet. Small world indeed.

Thanks for visiting my site.

Hello and welcome, we have a wonderful group of carvers and woodburners on this site. What type of carving are you interested in learning?
