| | Re: hey, just got in thanks for the welcome. I didn't carve a Santa (yet), I was referring to the online interactive Santa from Wordcarving Illustrated. (Sorry about the confusion).
I've only completed a few woodcarvings, and each time I see a more experienced carver's work, the less I think I've learned anything about carving. But I will keep trying, and one day, maybe, I will be able to say, "I am a woodcarver". |

| | Re: hey, just got in thanks everyone for the nice welcomes. makes me feel good to know that i've got 'help' out there in Internetland in case (and this will be often than not) i mess up. I'm working on a "dog" german shepherd but i want to customize it to look like an akita/chow/shepherd mix (talk about ambitious) I already cut off his foot, and then cut away too much of his snout. another carver helped me by suggesting wood filler in the "missing parts" (ha ha) - every time i pick my doggie up to look at him, i want to put him away again. but, i will persevere and hopefully, by next year, i will complete my carving. |
