Default Hello from NE Pennsylvania
Hello all,

I have never picked up a carving tool, but I have found myself becoming more and more interested. I was searching for information on the web when I found this forum. I just wanted to thank you all for the great information I have found so far. After reading some of the posts, I don't feel quite as lost as I contemplate which tools to buy, etc. I will definitely read more before I make any purchases, as I am working on a tight budget. Once I get started and making mistakes, maybe I'll be able to post some actual questions. For now, though, I am very pleased that there is a forum with knowledgable members devoted to wood carving.

Welcome to the forum there is a roundup in ne penn coming up you should check it out you would get some pointers from some great carvers there .

Thanks for the info about the roundup, Breezly. Robert, since I have never done this, I think I am going to start with some basic tools and some practice wood and see where it takes me. I'm a little like a kid in a candy shop right now. There's a lot to look at, but I don't know what I like best.
