Default Hello from kerhonkson NY

Hello everybody

I have been a woodworker for about 30 years and have done carving occasionally.
I have a small woodworking shop with a CNC router and have been starting to get jobs that involve carving.
My router does the roughing work and then I carve by hand the detail.
The quiet enjoyment of carving is something that is very enjoyable to me and I plan on doing a lot more.

Brian

Welcome Brian!
I'll take two points for actually knowing where Kerhonkson is located. Spent many hours in the woods in that area. Also made a few trips up the road to the old Accord Speedway for the demo derbies. Beautiful part of the state.
Look forward to seeing some of your carvings.
Great bunch of folks and a wealth of info here.

Welcome Brian, I agree with you I think it's very relaxing to carve. Of course we don't want to relax to much or we'll wind up in the ER.
I hope you will share some of your work with us. We have a wonderful group of carver's and burner's here and always helpful.
Kathy

A big Missouri Howdy, Brian. We're glad to welcome you to a great place to learn more about wood carving and finishing...and make some great friends in the process. Our son lived just outside of Buffalo for 4-5 years and we have vacationed in the Poconos--you anywhere close to those two areas? Awesome countryside everywhere outstate NY.

Welcome aboard! Great to have your experience with us. We all have something to share, different skills and ideas, and I am happy to see an experienced woodworker with us.
