Hi Lefthand, I'm from Indianapolis too (south side). I'm new here too. I'm been working on learning about incised/relief carving. I learned a new word this week: Acanthus (leaf, tree/bush?), a plant whose abstraction appears in many of the architectural/furniture carvings that have drawn my attention. Cheers! Bill Whig |

Hi Lefty, Welcome to the forum! Lots of great ideas & folks here. Wonderful to have you with us. Bill Whig: the acanthus I know is is a flowering perennial plant that has sharp/spiked leaves. Jay |

| Obviously, you are correct. I didn't know the word before this week! Thanks! Somehow the acanthuses (acanthi?) have a hold on me! : )
