Default Hello from Indianapolis

Hello Everyone. I am a brand new carver from Indy.I ordered a murphy knife from the factory and a few practice sticks from Heinecke. Two ugly faces and lots of "messing around" later and the tips of my thumbs are sore. Great forum here and a big thanks for all the info you all share. I hope i can carve as well you all do someday.

Welcome to the forum!
I's suggest a leather thumb guard and a kevlar glove be your next purchase - much cheaper than a trip to the emergency room... Please upload some photos of your work for us to see.

Claude

Welcome, my first knife was a Murphy Bench knife and it still serves me well. Member the more to carve the faster you will learn and become a good carver. Lot's of help here too, just ask.
