| | Hello Hello! Hello All,
I have just discovered this site and am thrilled to find such a goldmine. I've been carving for only 18 mths and feel a complete novice compared to some of you! I am enjoying carving lovespoons at the moment, and would love to find a pattern for a fairy - so any suggestions gratefully received! I've found plenty that are side-on but would like one with the fairy facing forward (if that makes sense). Well i'm off to explore more so bye for now.

| | Re: Hello Hello! Greetings and Salutations.... If it's any consolation I've been carving for over 4-years and I'm still a novice.... Have you thought about making your own pattern? Find a photo of a fairy in the pose that you want and then use a program like IrfanView to convert it to black and white and then do an edge detection. Then all you need to do is find a photo of a similiar fairy in a similiar pose from a different angle. Do the same process and you've got enough form to take to the band saw.

This a great site and you will love it here....
Bob D beat me to it...I was going to suggest Susan Irish also. She has some terrific patterns out in her books. Looking forward to pictures of your work being posted.
