Default Hello Everyone

My name is Skip Wenz. I've never done much wood carving, but I am a professional cabinet maker and contractor (semi retired), so I have a fair amount of shop experience. I've always wanted to get into wood carving, and have some particular images in mind.

I'm just completing the construction and organization of a small, one-man shop at my home in Oregon, where I plan to undertake my carving and related projects.

I've joined this chat group hoping for some guidance, especially about products. Early next year, I would like to acquire some power carving equipment, along the line of the Wecheer with its little "dentist drill" extension. I see several versions online, and I'm not sure which brands are considered professional in quality, or, if there is a "best," which one to choose (as Fein is generally considered the best of the multi-tools). Any advice?

Thanks,

Skip

Welcome aboard. I hope the forum can be of help. You might want to put these types of questions under the power carving section of the forum next time.
