Default Hello Carvers

Greetings from Northern Indiana.
I just received my new carving set from Rick. It will be fun to try carving tools instead of my old pocket knife.
I found a carving show coming to the area in November, I'm anxious to meet someother carvers, and ask a lot of questions.

Welcome Flyboy. After having my place buzzed by a B 17 about 6 times this past weekend I, for one, would be interested in how you arrived at your screen name. I am sure you'll enjoy this message board. Tom H

Hi Flyboy. Welcome to the boards. The people on here are really great.

Mind if I ask where at in Indiana you're located? I'm about 25 mins from Ft. Wayne. Just over the boarder in Ohio.

Also how is your kit from Rick? I'm thinking of getting one too.

Again welcome and hope to see you around.

Dusty

Thanks for the words of welcome folks.

Tom H. my user name comes from my other hobbies. I'm a fly fisher, and a experimental aircraft association member.I participate in the local EAA chapters building projects.

Saw Dusty, I live in Mishawaka, just East of South Bend. My wife and I will be in Ft. Wayne this coming weekend for A festival. I decided on Ricks beginner set after seeing his offer to sharpen the tools for free. I figured that they must be of a high enough quality metal to hold an edge, or he would be resharpening a lot of tools. I've been working on a neckerchief slide of an indian chief that I had started some time ago with a pocket knife. With the new tools I'll be able to add some detail and call it done.
I don't think I'll add any paint to it.
