Default Hello carvers

Hi friends, I'm Bill Whitehill. I'm a retired supt. of schools and live in central NY. I spend my summers mostly in the adirondak mountains (
saranac Lake area) in the summer and on the space coast in the Great Outdoors near Titusville Fla. in the winter. My other Hobby is building cedar strip canoes, 12 so far. I don't like sawdust anymore, preferring woodchips instead, so I think I've built my last canoe. I've been carving for about 7 yrs. and still have ALOT to learn. Mike Bloomquist has been a big help. I've gone to 2 of his sessions at the Arts Center in Old Forge NY. Nice Place, great sessions and teacher. There is a Santa workshop Oct. 18-19 this fall. So it is....thanks for listening and look forward to this new link. Bill W

Welcome aboard Bill. This is a super place for chip makers and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Would enjoy seeing a pic of one of your canoes .....Cedar strip canoes and kayaks are favorites of mine.
