| | Hello All New guy here. Very Nice forum you all have here. I live in Southwest Va. close to the TN state line.
I love working with wood. I have done some carving in the past but nothing to brag about. I'm really into woodturning But I want to step up my turnings with some embellishments with carvings and Pyrography. I just receaved my order for the new SR 5240 Foredom kit and the #50 chisel handpiece kit with 6 cutters. Its still in the box Hope to get it out and play with it ASAP.
Got a lot of looking here to get some good pointers.
Thanks
Jim |

| | Re: Hello All Hi Jim, Welcome, I just got here myself. Let me know when you break out that Foredom. That's a nice kit. First tip: Get yourself a "bench top" speed controller if you plan on doing much RPC carving. The pedal works well enough for rotary carving, but you'll want a set, stable speed for working with chisels. Why's that thing still in the box ? ;^) Bye the way, Flexcut makes a real nice boxed set of power carving blades for that 50C. |

I bought all of the supplies to re-do my bathroom....in June...... everything is still sitting there, ageing, like the tiles, grout, plumbing fixtures..........you know, the whole the and kaboodle........maybe by the time the bathroom is done, all of the stuff I bought will be aged to perfection and better than when I bought it......
Welcome Jim............have fun........lotsa great people here.
