| | Hello This looks like a great site . I am new to carving but I guess the interest has been with me a while as I dug out a cheap set of carving tool that I had bought at princess auto many years ago. I remember trying them and thinking well these suck they're all dull. So there they sat till a couple weeks ago. I have them sharpened now and cutting pretty good for the price of them. I want to make the right choices with my tool purchases so these and an Old Timer pocket knife will keep me content till I decide what I want. I am looking forward to getting to know you all. I think it is great how willing you all are to share your knowledge of carving. So my hat is off to you all with many thanks...

welcome to the board,it will not take long for the bug to bite to buy tools,do a search for threads about tools to see what everyone likes and has had to say about certain brands.

| | Re: Hello I want to thank you all and I already think this is a great site. So far everyone has been nothing but frindly and I do not think it will be any different, than a bunch of good down to earth, wonderful, people. It's woodcarvers, and I am a begener, but from what I have experenced in woodcarving, you have to be good people or you wood not be woodcarvers.
