Default Have got to sign off

OK, I got on line about 6 something this morning and I'm still sitting here reading all of the neat and interesting articles in the forum( now 10). I've got to get away from what all you've written to get something done with MY carving. I can't seem to quit reading all of the comments. WHAT A LEARNING EXPERIENCE!! See you later.

There is a lot you can learn from the old messages, and fun reading through them. Take your time though, a few at a time, they'll be there!!

I know what Xsailer means. I get to ogling all the great looking projects, and then somebody asks me "What am I working on".

I'm going to have to set a timer up to disconnect me from carving forums.

LOL take comfort in knowing that we all are in the same boat. WCI is such a wonderful web site and it's easy to get enthralled reading all the posts and threads within it. So as Bob said take your time and enjoy--and I'll add but don't forget to save time to carve and share with us.

Smile Re: Have got to sign off

Well, spent all the rest of the day finishing up a cat carving and consequently resharpening my Flexcut detail knife. I only cut my fingers twice. Couldn't get the darn lid off of the darn super glue bottle(it was glued on). Blood on most everything. Now I'll have to put up with that all week. Had fun thou. I tried my new Flexcut on one of those vegtable ivory nuts(can't think of the name of them) a couple of months ago and damaged the tip of the cutting edge. I never really got it resharpened out of the cutting edge. Now I finally have it gone, I think. Only took 40 minutes and one finger cut. I'm really looking forward to getting one of Rick's knives. Then I can cut all of my fingers at one time. But I won't care.
Tomorrow I start carving on some cottonwood bark that I cleaned today. Really looking forward to that. I've signed up for Mr. Jensen's bark carving class in June at the Woodcarver's Congress. Trying to get a jump start.
Now I want to get back to reading the old forum comments.....Bye

Shiver me'timbers. About ready to reef the main and relax.

I think you're thinking of tagua nuts, aka vegetable ivory.

I just got some patching done on a raven mask I've been slowly working on, sanded a pair of placks, and roughed out another pair of placks and a full size paddle.

Wifey is still hollering about tracking dust. Who me? It wuz the cat!

Now I can safely browse thru here for the next couple of hours if I want since I actually got something done today.
