Default Greetings from the Foothills of Sierra

Hello to the community at large from Nevada City, CA, which is in the foothills of the Sierra Madre and about 80 miles from the "Biggest Little City" in the world, Reno, NV.

The Woodcraft website has so much to offer in the way of tutorials, patterns, help, seminars and community talent. However, the sign-in, registering and navigation appear to be more difficult than it needs to be. My interests are in Intarsia, Pryographics, Chip Carving and use of exotic woods. Fortunately, we have a good supply in both Reno and nearby Auburn to suit almost anyone's desire in finding just that right piece, plank or chunk of wood. Everything from Osage Orange to Ebony can be purchased here plus many woods that come from the fruit orchards, eucalypus trees and coastal red woods of California.

If you want to share Intarsia designs, please let me know. I make many of my own and have a good track record of winning art.

Welcome to the forum, Bob.

BTW, this is the Woodcarving Illustrated Forum, not the Woodcraft web site, which is here:

Hey Bob! Welcome aboard! Don't you mean the 'Sierra Nevada' vice the 'Sierra Madre'? I always thought the Sierra Madre was the coastal range... Anywho, welcome aboard and safe carving to you!!!
