Default Greetings Carvers

Hiya,

My name is Gary (not Hanzo long story lol) and I live in SoCal.

I have been making a living doing sculpture of one kind or another for 20+ years. I started as a kid with a company that builds rose parade floats and currently work as a sculptor for a company that does themed environments, museums etc.

Needless to say I mostly worked in plastics until recently when my company did a job for http://www.skirball.org/index.php?op...sk=view&id=124 . I got to do alot of chainsaw/power carving and I am hooked.

Bought myself a chainsaw, a Merlin, a flex shaft grinder and a dust collector and I am setting up shop in the garage! Hope the wife can deal with the noise/dust! lol

I have a great supplier of basswood but I am having a hard time finding any LARGE lumber to carve. Any advice would be appreciated

Thanx, Gary
