Default Greetings

I am here to learn and make new friends. I am from NE part of Georgia and my hobbies are fishing, woodworking, and carving. I received a severe electrical shock to my brain a while back and I am relearning past skills. Carving being one of them. I lost my abilty to figure it all out and I am in the process of relearning how. I view my old work and wonder how in the world I ever vinished the project. I know it all sounds weird but this too I will overcome. Anyway, hello everyone. oh yes, I am a 67 year old male.

Welcome,
Hope you find some good inspiration on this message board. Carving is such good therapy so I hope it helps you regain old knowledge and skills--besides being just plain fun!

Hello and welcome, sorry to hear about your accident. I bet it won't take you long to relearn carving and you'll be back up to speed in no time.

Please, feel comfortable here. This is a super group of carvers and great people. Keep on with your carving, I was in a very similar jackpot. Mine was due to a car accident and resulting brain injury, necck and back injuries. Took years, but I was able to re-awaken my shipmodelling skills and develop my carving skills further than I had ever hoped to. I still don't figure out things well or quick .....one thing at a time and total attention on that. Short term memory is in the shitter and concentration not worth a damm ...... but I can still carve. Slowly, and for short periods, but I can do it. Hang in there partmer, carving is great therapy!!! No sh*t!!!
