Default getting back to carving

Hi everyone,
I have carved for most of my life, starting with Grannys bars of sunlight soap,i think the poor old girl was using soap shaped like a dog or some other animal untill her end and never once complained.i then got into wood and started carving carictures, untill I met my wife and got into birds, and have never looked back.with time, life and work I drifted away from carving and have now started again, but have found I still have alot of the same questions and problems as when I stoped.so I will be looking around the forum to try and resolve some of these issues.
