Default G'Day Mates from the land down under

My name is Barrie. I am 69 years old and live on the Central Coast of New South Wales, which is a one hour drive north of Sydney, Australia. Have had an interest in woodwork since 1955 when I started an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker. Quit that after a couple of years to become a navy diverand did not get back to making sawdust until about 3 years ago. Started on the scrollsaw and then came across a copy of Woodcarving Illustrated. Haven't stopped carving since. I have no set agenda, am trying all styles. Looking forward to learning from you - my motto is "Life is too short".

Thumbs up Re: G'Day Mates from the land down under

Afternoon Barrie! This is my first time too. I live in Virginia, USA in a rual area called Mechanicsville. It's a little northeast of the state capital of Richmond. I started carving as a way to share my art with my sister (totally blind) and my mother (partially blind). I've gone from a Barlow pocket knife to a good set of Flexicut tools. Which tools to you like to use?
