Default G'day everyone

This is a new venture for me. I have been doing some turning for about 2 years. I took a one day carving class last week out of interest. Although the course unfortunately was not very informative it did further my interest in learning more about carving. I am from northwestern Ontario, near Thunder Bay. I inherited some wood carving tools from my mother and I am interested in some beginner projects that offer some challenge. I have made my own carving knife and I am just in the process of making my own leather stropping belt for sharpening.
I would really appreciate any assistance and ideas for new projects. Looking forward to getting started.
Errol

Welcome to the forum Errol! Gene Messer, one of the carvers on this forum, has several excellent videos out on youtube...he has some excellent beginner projects. Also, there are a lot of great books out there with loads of projects from beginner to advanced. And if you don't already have one you should get a subscription to this magazine, WCI. Every issue has lots of terrific projects in it.
