That is always a bummer for me when I get into a thread and really get to reading and liking it and then I look back, or someone points out it is 3 or 4 years old. Such a disappointment, I was looking forward here to seeing a whole bunch of fish pictures and hoping to learn from them. I am a fish carver so was hoping to see all the pictures. Darn....... Gene

I didn't know that I had so many questions, but here goes nothing. I hold the fish in position by using pins and a piece of foam board to lay the fish on. To Open the mouth, like in a striking position I use tin foil and under the gills as well. When the fish is frozen, the tin foil and the pins easily come out and I digitally photograph them in profile view. and plan view. From that photograph I use software called Microsoft Digital image Pro to convert the picture to a line drawing. from that drawing I can make any size pattern I want by transferring it to a piece of chipboard. I hope this helps. bill dazet |
