Default First post to WCI
Hello,Carvers. This is my first post on this forum,and I must say I'm finding it something of a challenge. Maybe I should spend more time using the computer.

I'm a caricature carver from Rose,OK. who on occasion wanders off into relief and realistic carving,with limited success. I've been at it for twelve years, and often wonder how I would fill my time in retirement if I hadn't found carving when I did.

I'm glad to be here and look forward to using this resource as a means of getting over the next hurdle that carving continues to present us .

Glad to have you on board. I understand the challenge of learning to navigate the Message Board. I'm also new ... but hang in there. Each time I'm on I discover something new. I'm impressed with how willing the members are to offer advise and help. Keep the chips flyin~

Hi I'm a newbie here from Texas. I am very excited about joining and learning all I can about caricature carving. Been carving for about 6yrs. now.

Yeah our little community isn't so little anymore and can be dounting to get around. Just stick with it and you'll be moving around the forums like you were never new.

Well, welcome to all of you. Rose, OK? Where's that--what neck of the woods? I have relatives in the Weatherford and Carnegie area, plus our youngest daughter lived near Miami for several years.

Glad all of you found this message board. Good help with carving issues, plus good carving friends can be found here.

For those of you who are interested, DonnaT in particular, if you have ever traveled old route 33 (now Scenic US 412) between Locust Grove,OK. and Siloam Springs, AR. you have been in beautiful downtown Rose,OK., You just didn't realise it. The population hovers around 23, so it's not too surprising that you might have missed it. But the important thing is, it's a great place to retire.
