Default Ready to paint...

A question for any one who might be able to help regarding a carving just finished and is "dirty" from handling during carving. I use a glove. Am confused with what technique to use. Any suggestions?? Attachment looks cleaner than he really is...help!

Hi Rodger. Welcome to the forum from a relatively new guy. Lots of help here for all your carving. Keep that first one safe somewhere so you can see how much you will improve.
Cleaning - made simple the Phil and Vicki Bishop way. Bucket full of warm water and Simple Green. Scrub with an old tooth brush, or new one if it matters to you . Their suggestion is to paint while wet. I do that now. But you will need to experiment for yourself, PTopa.

I've found that an artist's eraser (the big white kind) works quite well to get rid of pencil marks and grime from my carvings. Also a fine grit sandpaper will get the job done too.
