Well done Rogder. I always tell people to keep their first carving. You will be thankful you did many years from now.

The mushroom is 4'' and it's made out of willow.

Hello and welcome. A+ on your first carving and I really like your choice of wood. Carving and computer skills all come with practice and you have a good start.

Welcome to this site! Great try on your mushroom & good advice to keep the 1st carving if you can. My 1st was a wood chopper than ended up as a golfer. So enjoy the art of carving and let the chips fall where they may.

Hi I'm Joyce and am trying my first carving too. Its a small boot. Had a look at one finished one for a few minutes and now am trying to carve a bit more but I need a pattern or picture of a finished one as I just can't do too much
from imagination. Its just a small low one not a cowboy style. I don't know how to scan it unless I can take a picture later. cheers

Hi Joyce welcome to the site. Working with your imagination is like other skills they get better the more you use them.

Nice job on the mushroom. I look forward to watching as you do/learn more and more.

You did a very good job on your first carving.
