Hi

I'm a neophyte to all this. I'm wondering if there's any woodcarving workshops or clubs in south Jersey (as in New Jersey,USA)

Thanks

Chris,
Welcome to the WCI message board. Great place to find good stuff about carving. There are lots of carving clubs in NJ but I only found one that specifically lists itself as South Jersey. Try this:

South Jersey Woodcarvers :
Meets Third Friday of each month
7:00 PM at 302 Union Ave
Stratford, New Jersey, 08084
Contact: Paul Dezii,
23 Kenwood Drive
Cherry Hill NJ, 08034
856-429-8311

More info: www.southjerseywoodcavers.com

Jersey Hills Carving Club
Jefferson Township, NJ
meeting in jefferson high school
1st & 3rd thurs of the month
contact bob at 973 697 1006
Email: cfd6895@aol.com

Also, there's a bunch of other NJ carving clubs/related groups listed on the Colwood wood burner website (they're also located in New Jersey and they make great woodburners and supplies) http://www.woodburning.com/carving.asp#NJ

Also, if you will look on the left side of this website under Carving Community, you'll find our carving club search info--it lists a lot of clubs, too. One specifically lists a South Jersey and it has a link:
South Jersey Wood Carvers
Open work shop is held every thurd Friday of month, 1 PM
Strattford Senior Center
302 Union Ave
Stratford, NJ 08084
USA
(856)429-8311

Joining a club is a great way to help you get started--lots of help and support.
