unfortunately judges seem to include there subjective views when they are judging anything.it sounds to me that this fellow was not a judge of woodcarving.and as an adult he doesn't get high marks from me. it is or duty as adults to encourage our children, grandchildren and young people in there endeavours and not put them down. don't let your grandson get put off by the comments of one person Frank

That reminds me of my "shaggy dog" story. When he was just a pup, a friend told me that he was shaggy and that I should enter him into the "shaggy dog contest" in the county. The judge walked by and said, " That dog is shaggy" and we got the trophy. With that win we were qualified into the state competition. I took the dog and the judge came by and said, "Man, that dog is shaggy".We had won the state competition and we got our trophy. With that win we were automatically entered into the nationals in Kansas City. We took the dog to the "shaggy dog nationals" and the judge looked the dogs over and came back and told me, "That dog is shaggy". We had won again. We were headed to the "international shaggy dog show" in Paris, France. We loaded the dog up and went to France. It was a very long plane ride for both of us. We finally arrived and took the dog in to be judged and the judge came by and said, "THAT DOG IS NOT SHAGGY". |

thank you, for all the encouragement. I let my grandson read some of the posts and he had a grin on his face so did his mother. I can't send a picture of the donkey because I don't have one at this date. this site should be called " the encouragement place" thank you again ,all of you. Just old JimApple
