Default Carvers are sociable people

Hello. My name is Bill and I live in the Chicago area, Joliet Illinois to be exact.
I started carving about 10 years ago and was quite entusiastically involved (clubs and classes) for about five years. During that period I completed about 30 projects, from fish to human heads, and although I always had trouble with eyes and keeping my tools sharp, I enjoyed the experiences greatly. Other interests pulled me away from this hobby but now I have found new interst and have joined a group of carvers and woodworkers at the Joliet Senior Center. My first project is a catfish from McCulluchs book and I am nearing completion. I heard the story of Floyd Schultz on Public Radio today and came to the internet to research his website. I have come across this website and decided to join to fuel my current interst in carving and things wooden. Best regards to other carvers and I welcome any exchange of ideas and unique projects.

Welcome to the board Bill! You'll find that some of the friendliest carvers hang out here.
