Default Can't post pictures

Been away for a while, would like to post some of my carvings and woodburning. Has my ability to post been terminated? If one of the moderators could inform me by e-mail I would appreciate. I only have a few pic on the site but I get "error" so many millions of bytes have been used??? Thanks Semper Fi!!!

are you remembering to resize your photos first?

Thank you Hollis....

as for your pictures, there is a free microsoft program that is very user friendly. I just click resize and a default size comes up, click ok and it's done. The amount of digital space is the main concern.... Someplace on this message board there is a post telling where to go down load the program. If you can't find the thread, Bob D can probably tell you where to get it at. It is one of the "Power Toys for XP". Great program. I never have any problem posting the resized pics. Can't wait to see your work.

Hollis,

i think your hunting for this thread for help with putting images into message base
<link>>>>
Cannot submit pictures with correct size

while the above thread deals mostly with message base photos and the resizing of them,
you can also post to the members carvers gallery with no size restrictions as a second option

Thanks all, I've been working on this problem for a couple of hours. I have been to all the sites recommended. The last time I tried to upload two pics 100 X 75, 63 X 100 . Still get the same message "Fatal Error" goes on to tell me how many millions of bytes.

I have finally gotten a camera and would like to post some carvings that I have done. I can take a picture and blow it up and put a hundred pixel's in a place you can barely see downsized. I have fixed these two pictures to the pixel size above to no avail. Appreciate your feedback and would not like to think there's any rat in the woodpile. If someone can be of any more help, please advise. My art are carvings are not for sale and are done for all to appreciate and critique. They end up as gifts. Thanks HMckinley USMC Retired M/Sgt and Semper Fi. Below you can see the actual size I have attempted to upload to the site.

Hollis,

here is a uploaded image from my computer it was 1722x2517 480dpi
i used resize setting it to 500x500 resizer turned into 342x500 480dpi due to how it works it wont screw up aspect ratio so you dont come up with those squat fat pictures like some other programs do..

the picture you uploaded was ok as to aspect ratio but its so small postage stamp sized

check your directory to make sure that your uploading the file you save after resizing it, its a common mistake to think you are saving modifyed files to a different directory than where the original is located...

let me know if your still having trouble or just send me a file through email address below and ill post it and tell you how i did it if there was anything special involved

I found it easy to use a website like photobucket.com to host my pictures. I then Set up my webpage in Geocities and linked my pictures to photobucket site (A little more complicated)..But photobucket is a great place too kepp your files I have found...You can make it Private or you can make it public...And the people visiting your site can make it a slideshow and just sit back and enjoy your stuff... Hope this is of help..

Sincelerly,

Peter H.Lux

Thank you sir, I was just at that time having the problem and to my knowledge everyone else was sailing smooth.

I have been uploading also to Flickr and it's about the same as Photobucket. I'm under Alabama EGA

Semper Fi and thanks HMckinley
