Default Brand New Carver Saying Hello

Hello Everyone, I am a retired lady from NC that has always thought woodcarving is awesome...taking a piece of nature and making an object of art WOW!
I have never met a woodcarver who was grumpy!
I look forward to learning a lot from this forum.

Hello Catbird, and welcome. I can tell from your introeduction you've got a real zest for life and creation. You're going to be a real good carver with enthusiasm like that. And you will learn a lot here.

Hi again.

One thing I learned is you7 have to carve all the time. I've found when I don't carve for a while, it takes me time to mget back in the groove, learning what my tools can do, etc.

Take a look at the starter kit at littleshavers (search the posts for the link or wait until someone posts it, which they will) when you're ready to invest in tools. You don't have to go overboard with tools in order to carve.
