Default Bird Carver swoops in

Hello everyone,
I am new here. I am very excited to get to know you all. I will be posting a thread on micromotors very soon. I would like to address the pros and cons of the NSK Emax and the Foredom 1045. Also I would like to talk paint. Airbrush, paint brands, brush brands, and so on. Also burs/bits and bur/bit brands. I have been carving for about 6 years now (3 of those years being full time). I am getting to the point where I would like to help a few fellow carvers. Also I would like to learn a little from you all. Well see you on the board.

Welcome Eric, well let's see I can talk paint brands, brushes etc. I'll be interested in following the discussion on handheld electric carvers and brand types. As I don't own either of those brands, but do have a Alltrade Rotary Tool with accessories I bought at Costco. It's good for what it is, mostly sanding and drilling. I think it will work well on larger carving, but not for small carving.
As for paint and brushes, acrylic I like Liquidtex, for oil I like Rembrandt. Craft brushes by Loew Cornell white nylon all sizes (what ever will get the job done. I keep separate brushes for craft and canvas, watercolor painting.

Welcome. Nice website and really nice work. By the look of the quality of your pieces I doubt if you need any additional advice. However, should you every want to put some boots or a headress on one of your feathered friends I'd be glad to offer a few pointers.

Absolutely beautiful work!
As you finish new carvings, could you post the pictures here so we don't miss them?
Thanks!
