Default Beginner new to the group

Not sure if I'm more pleased since I started whittling or my bride. Names George and I started whittling a bit last year. Never set out to get into it but I guess a lot of things just happen. Took my grandson for hike on the Applachian trail and promished the boy I'd make him a walking stick with a face on it.
I used my cub scout knife and carved a spirit on it,,that knife gotta be at least 55 years old. He loved the walking stick as well as the knife which I gave him.
It just felt good, several sticks later I actually got one done that only looked half bad.
I want to thank Gene,Whittler0507 on You Tube for really getting me going, his videos were a God send for me. Over time I carved a dozen or so of his tutorials and I'm actually getting better at it. Time just floats by for me when I got a knife in my hand and my mental peace and quietude is way up in the clouds. I'm retired some time now, thats about it,not much more to say, just an introduction so the forum message will quit asking me to introduce myself!
George,Stroudsburg PA.

Welcome. You are right about getting lost in your carving. I can get so involved that I can look up at the clock and it will be 2:00 AM. Hope you will post pictures of some of your projects sometime.

Mark I will post some pictures, but got to get my daughter to show me how to do that. I'm good at searching the internet but not so good at the loading/camera thing. I get foggy headed just thinking of doing it.
