Smile A beginner for carving

Hello carvers,

My name is Hunter Wu, located in Taiwan. There are many wood drifting from mountain area to the sea shore in the typhoon season, the good smell wood are the first kinds of wood that I would like to collect such as Taiwan red & yellow cedar which I put it in the bedroom for good sleep.

The next topic for me is carving something such as human body, face. And after I try to search some information from the website, there are many good master in Taiwan, but there is not a discussion forum like this to share the experience with. that is the reason why I am here now.

The first project for me is an owl where I had a trip to PRC months ago, with some chips I pick up from sea shore & the carving tool I made it by cutting hand saw to pieces and sharpen it again with wood handler.
After I try to carving something so far, it is really interesting but not easy job for me, but any way, I already start to do it after I said for years.

Thanks! Yes, it is. There is a famous place SANYI near my home town. A lots of good carvers and many sculpture shops & a museum right there. I am trying to find out some sculpture lesson but not sucess so far. I will keep trying. Time is another issue that I don't have right now. It take about one year on every weekend to join the carving course and it is not so popular. (A traditional Chinese carving training course will take about 3 years)
