Default beginner bowl carver

Hi, I am new to this site and new to carving. I just started working with a carver in order to learn the art of hand carving bowls (and sharpening). After a few lessons I plan to meet with a local wood carving group but it seems to be hard to find people with experience in hand carving bowls. Any advice for a novice would be appreciated. I am using gouges and not an adz and scorp as are used on green wood.

Francie

Well, Francie I don't have any advice, but I sure would like to welcome you to the WCI Message board.
