A beginner

I just got me a demel and a scroll saw. If any one can help me find some small easy project to do so I can learn how to build things I would be grateful. For any help.

Welcome aboard. With a Dremel and a Scroll Saw, there isn't very much you can't do! LOL Two very flexable tools. Spend some time getting use to them, cutting out shapes on the saw and trying various blades, and woods. Same with the Dremel, try some shaping with some burrs, and see how it works. Get use to them. Practice, practice, practice. Cut out a duck shape and then shape it some. Don't need to be accurate to begin, just get use to the tools. You'll be flying in no time! Read lots of WCI issues for ideas of projects. Have fun.

Tell us a little about your experience with carving. Have you done any manual carving with hand tools (knives, gouges, etc.)??? What kind of carving are you interested in: relief, caricatures, animals in the round, etc.??

There are some free patterns posted on this website. Or if you're interested in relief, you can take about any child's coloring book and get simple pictures that you can make into beginner's relief carvings.
