Default Another Newbie

Hello All..

I'm kind of new to all this, so for the most part, I'll just be reading and learning from all your posts.

My interest began one day when I saw a block of bassword at woodshop and thought..I think I see a hummingbird hiding inside that block. So...without an idea, a design, a plan, and basically without a clue...I bought the block.

Now I'm searching for a design. I've seen a few pattern books available on the net, but as a newbie, I'm not sure which ones are good and which ones aren't so good.

My local library doesn't have much on carving, let alone carving designs, but I'll keep looking.

I'm just impatient to get started.

Thanks in advance for the tips and tricks I will learn thourgh this forum.

KJ

Hello and welcome, Kylie. It's nice to have you here.

All the tips and suggestions you need to guide you forward are here in the posts. You just have to search the posts and gallery.

May I suggest you do a search of "hummingbird drawings" for a pattern.

I know in the beginning it all seems overwhelming but believe me, that's how we all started. And, some of us are still struggling with designs and carving problems.

Welcome to the WCI Board Kylie, ya can find a whole gross of inormation on here and if ya search you should find pics and topics related to humming birds. Ya can also jump over to foxchapelpublishing to look at books. Remeber the only stupid questions are the ones never asked, everyone on here was once a noob.
