| | I am New Hello everybody. I have a woodworking business with three employees located in Laredo, TX about 1 mile from the Mexico border. We do alot of comercial cabinets, millwork and formica work. It is not very aristic. It is more like a challange to do a quality product as fast as possible so I can make a living and pay the employees. I am 45 and have been doing this for about 15 years. I have done a little carving in the past (three doors, a sign and a face). I am interested in carving faces and am looking for a good source for blanks. The size would be abou 4" x9" x 12". Thank you for the reference of woodcarvingbiz.com they saved me about $200 on carving tools. I am a good source if you have furniture or cabinet making questions.

Glad to have you join us .
There are quite a few places to get blanks , think it will depend on the wood you want. Once you decide which wood, the next steps will be simple.

Welcome!
There are lots of good suppliers out there. One I really like sells on ebay, as well as outright. I've bought from them both ways. They've always treated me great and sold top quality kiln dried wood in a great variety. I've also told them exactly what I needed and they've cut it.
fullcycle is their ebay handle. If you do a search under that, you can contact them directly or bid on what you see. They provide carving wood to Dollywood, Dolly Parton's themepark in Tennessee, where they're located.
Good luck and happy carving!
