Default Absolute complete noob from Aotearoa

Hello! Ummm, yerp. Im Eva, from Aotearoa (more commonly known as New Zealand... or middle earth). Complete, utter carving newb, havn't even finished my first one, I found a big stump on the riverbank and my partner gave me his fathers chisels and told me to carve a toad, so I am.

I was using a rubber mallet, which killed me, so he made me a wooden one which I am yet to use.

Thats pretty much my story, so, HI

And a hearty welcome from Ontario Canada. One thing you got going for you for sure is weather, it's 5:00AM our time here and the temp. is 10 degrees above zero F, man, I'd love to be there where you are right now. Anyway, you've joined a great group here and everyone of them is willing to help you along the way. I'm new as well (four months) and these guys and gals have been wonderful. Good luck with the toad, and be sure to put a smile on his face.

Welcome aboard and happy toad carving. When you finish the toad, perhaps you could carve a Hobbit next to it! I hear they are popular down under.

Nice to have you with us, no matter what you carve.

Bob

Did you say you were carving a toad or turning someone into a toad? Either way, welcome aboard! Say!
