| | Wood Workers Source.net Good Stuff, Funny. So I hadn't ordered from them before but I will be most likely again, their confirmation emails are classic. The order process, selection and over all website were just fine, and I am pleased with the experience overall.
But it's this email confirmation I got today that's just classic. I wish there were more businesses out there that had a little character and style left to them.
Check this out, this is the confirmation email I got today. Quote:
Good news, Keith! Our highly trained and skilled team of 50 employees has - with great care and attention - selected, packaged and shipped your order 27815 on this beautiful day, 2/4/2008.
We had a lively celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street where the entire city of Phoenix came out, waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, and patted the UPS driver on the back.
Local TV stations sent in cameras and reporters who asked, "What does Keith Wells intend to make with this?" We offered no comment so we wouldn't spoil your surprise. We do hope to see pictures of what you make so we can have another city-wide celebration.
I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at Woodworkers Source. We enjoyed every minute of it, and
your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year". We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to Woodworkers Source!
| Just Classic. I'll be doing more business with WoodworkersSource.net anyway. Thats just good stuff.

Well heck; if nothing else, they have a beautiful new Western Star tractor haulin' that flatbed of new wood! That certainly guarantees they got good taste; I might have to just go down and chew the fat with that driver and if a parade breaks out, so much the better! Their Black Canyon shop is just a short roll down the hill from my cabin, Yippee!
I must say, this is one of the more up lifting posts I have seen in a while, some one please keep it going.
Hugs,

I got more than I need to make a jewelery box and less than I need to build an outhouse, tempting as a Mahogany outhouse may be. Seriously though I believe my bill with shipping was just under $200 so not much. Although I did order a sample platter of 40 something different kinds of wood, both domestic and exotic, so maybe they are under the impression that I have some pretty big plans...
Their initial contact was much the same, full of character and while I am sure it's a form letter for the most part with my name tossed in it's likely it reflects the attitudes of those that are running/working there and that's pretty darned special.

Canopener | I cannot for the life imagine how there could exist much negativity on a web forum devoted to carving wood. What the hell is wrong with folks if their passion can be a source of contention?
So amen to the positive stuff, carving wood takes me to a place where I am focused and happy... Keeps the voices quiet. Well Quiet enough anyway.
I read somewhere recently where some Vets suffering from post traumatic stress find a lot of relief in carving. This makes a lot of sense to me and I can see the value. I'm happier than a pig in Mud to be getting back into carving, it's good stuff... I got new tools showing up, I've got an old piece out of a box I've been meaning to finish for he last 10 years, and I'm loving it. |

If nothing else it proves these guys have a wonderful sense of humour and love the work they do. |
