Default Wood borer treatments?

Does anyone have a treatment for wood borers?? Mainly for borers that have infested wood and not a preventative. Wood larger than what can fit into the microwave

how about putting in a bag and holding up to your exhaust, then tie it off and put it aside.....then when the exhaust smell is gone, put it in the freezer for a few days? not sure about borers, but worked for termites! Woodcarvers are borers! you're not talking about that type are you?

Well, never thought about carvers being borers, but your approach might work for both

I was thinking of long (6 inch) sticks and have put them in the truck camper then ran a portable generator for a while hoping the carbon monoxide will kill them. Don't know if it worked or not. I've read about a fellow who uses a heavy duty insect spray bomb. He has some type of sealed container that he puts the wood into and then tosses in the aerosol "bomb." Might be OK for small pieces but I need to find a way to handle larger pieces. Someone, somewhere, should have an answer??

Woodartist,
If it were me, I would just toss any pieces that are full of bores of any kind. If those holes help the looks of the project I would leave 'em alone.

The problem of using them Art, is that they could pop out at anytime I know I have cut infected logs that had a bunch of the critters still alive in there
