Default What's the best way to dry this wood?

Hi, I have a couple slices of Peach wood, about 1" thick, 4" wide,14" long. So far I've had it with some painters tape across the ends, a paper towel around the whole thing, and in a plastic grocery bag. It's in a plastic craft type drawer. I took it out today, about 2 months since I cut and stored it, and it looks good, no splits. There is some light mold along the outside bark edge. Should I just leave it the way I have it, or is there a better way. I guess I'm not in a hurry to use it, next year would be fine.

Enclosing the wood in a plastic bag holds the moisture in and promotes mold growth. I prefer to seal the ends with melted paraffin wax and store the wood in a dry environment (in my case, my basement). I found the wax at my local Hobby Lobby.

Paint the ends, any paint will do. This is meant to attempt to equalize the water loss from all faces of the board. As the wood cells are cut open at the ends of the boards, that's where water loss/evaporation will be greatest. Next, air dried, under cover, best is outdoors.
