Default Source for horn and bone

This is an interesting site. They sell horn and bone and have a lot of carved horn and bone objects for sale: http://www.origindia.com/index.htm

Cap'n, your not too far from here. At least not as the crow flies anyway. I'm sure you know where Fancy Farm and Mayfield Ky are. It's been a while since I was last down your way.

I have been making a few items from antler and horn. The best place to get raw horn and antler are from Moscow hide and fur. They are on the web. Whittler

whittler, actually I just moved to West Tn last year and have never heard of Fancy Farm and Mayfield KY. Sorry, I guess I don't get out much! I don't do much bone or antler work. I use some deer antler for knife handles occasionally but they are the local variety, nothing exotic. I just thought that website had some interesting stuff.

That's alright Cap'n, I never heard of Dyersburg until I went there with a friend many years ago ;-) Have you been over to Reelfoot and tried some cypress kness? Theyt also have a big open air arts and crafts show over there in the fall. Mostly craft items but a few pretty good carvers show up from time to time.

My antler work is knife handles and game calls. I haven't carved any yet but would like too. The cow horn I use to make coyote howlers. I have collected some cow bones for carving. I would like to make inlays for my calls with it.Whittler
