Default Mystery found wood

My brother got me a big chunk of wood. Tree must have been 3ft across. this wood is real light colored and wet. But it smells like sewage when cut wet. I thought it was cottonwood. Have anybody heard of wet cottonwood stinking ?

yes ive found something just like that under a cotton wood tree must have been a branch. i definitely think its cotton wood mine was very soft and smelled like sewage and cottonwoods are huge trees so that would explain the size of the wood if you could maybe post a pic of this wood i could probably tell you for sure..
