I'm looking for a source that I may purchase blank mantles for carving.

Take a look at the Van Dyke catalog - I think they still exist.

I have mine custom cut at a local mill. Look up custom milling in your area. I dry mine for three years or more prior to carving. You may be able to find a custom miil that has dry logs or dry fitches that can be used as mantels.
