Being new at this I think I posted on the wrong forum so I am posting here, too! I am looking for wooden eggs smaller than the hen's egg size. Anybody know where I can get them?

Most woodcarving suppliers carry them... here's one. http://www.littleshavers.com/Turnings.html Rick is very active on the message board here While it may take longer, it would also be good practice to carve an egg shape out of basswood....I guarantee you will learn a lot about the cuts and grain direction!!! Thanks, Bob. Little Shavers has the hen's eggs, but I haven't seen anything smaller. Maybe I should try carving down one of those! You're right, it would be good practice. I also have some scrap pieces I could try that with. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for starting this thread in a better suited forum..... I have a question: What would you do with such a small egg? I did not know that they made this size, and you have aroused my curiosity. |

I've carved 5 from hen's eggs and painted three of them. They came out really cute and are easy to do. The book shows sizes from goose down to pigeon. I have several goose size that I haven't carved yet and a couple hen's eggs left. I get the goose and hen sizes from Little Shavers but didn't see anything smaller there.
